Men often ask me: Is there a natural alternative to Viagra?

But the most effective natural remedy for ED is something you probably haven’t heard of. It’s called tongkat ali.

Research from Malaysia’s School of Medical Sciences looked at 109 men. Scientists gave some of them a daily 300-mg dose of tongkat ali extract. They gave the rest a placebo.   • Builds muscle. A study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine enlisted male volunteers in a strength-training program. Researchers gave half the men 100 mg per day of tongkat ali extract. They gave the other half a placebo. After five weeks, the tongkat ali group had reduced body fat and increased lean muscle mass compared to the placebo takers.[3]

Another five-week study looked at active older adults. Scientists from South Africa’s University of the Western Cape gave half the subjects 400 mg a day of tongkat ali extract. They gave the other half a placebo. The tongkat ali group ended up with increased muscle strength and higher testosterone levels.[4]

  • Relieves stress. Research published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition looked at 63 adults who suffered from moderate stress. Subjects who took 200 mg of tongkat ali extract had reduced levels of the stress hormone cortisol. They also reported feeling less anxiety and anger. A placebo group did not have these benefits.[5]

Tongkat ali has no side effects. Studies have found that you can safely take up to 1.2 grams (1,200 mg) per day.

Tongkat ali is usually taken in capsule form. It’s widely available from online retailers and health food stores.
